The AI Meta Generator writes optimized title tags and meta descriptions for any page in your audit. It uses your page's crawl data — headings, body text, and real GSC keyword signals — to produce copy that fits Google's character limits while placing your target keyword where it matters most.

Where to find the meta generator

You can access the AI Meta Generator from two places inside Daylytix:

  • On-Page tab — open any audit, click the On-Page tab, and look for the Generate Meta button in the action column next to each page row.
  • AI Tools panel — click AI Tools in the left sidebar to open the dedicated panel, then select Meta Generator. From here you can also trigger bulk generation across multiple pages.

Generating meta for a single page

1

Open the On-Page tab

From your audit results, click the On-Page tab. The table shows every crawled page with its current title, meta description, character counts, and any issues flagged (missing, too long, too short, duplicate).

2

Click "Generate Meta" on a page row

The button appears in the last column of the table. Clicking it opens a side panel showing the current title and description alongside AI-generated alternatives. Generation takes 2–5 seconds.

3

Review and edit the suggestions

The AI output is fully editable directly in the panel. Click into the title or description field to make changes. A live character counter updates as you type — green when within the ideal range, amber when approaching the limit, red when over.

4

Copy the HTML snippet

Click Copy as HTML to copy the ready-to-use <title> and <meta name="description"> tags. Paste them into your page template, CMS field, or GTM Custom HTML tag.

What the AI optimizes for

Each generation request passes the following data to Claude AI so it can write copy that is accurate to your actual page and relevant to real search demand:

Input signal How it is used
Page title & H1 Establishes the core topic and ensures the generated title is topically consistent.
Body text excerpt Gives the AI enough context to write an accurate description that matches the page's actual content.
GSC top query for this URL When GSC is connected, the AI receives the keyword this page already ranks for, and places it naturally in the title and description.
Character limits Title target: 50–60 characters. Description target: 150–160 characters. The AI is instructed to hit these ranges on the first attempt.
Tone hint Optional setting (professional, friendly, urgent, concise) that shapes the writing style of the output.
💡
Connect GSC first for the best results. Without GSC, the generator writes from page content alone. With GSC connected, it knows exactly which keyword each page ranks for and can write copy that reinforces that ranking signal. See Connect Google Search Console for setup instructions.

Setting a tone hint

Before generating, you can optionally set a tone for the entire session. Open the AI Tools panel → Meta Generator → Settings and choose from:

  • Professional — formal, authoritative language suited to B2B or service pages
  • Friendly — conversational, approachable copy suited to consumer brands or lifestyle content
  • Urgent — action-oriented language with a clear call to action, suited to landing pages and offers
  • Concise — minimal, factual descriptions that let the content speak for itself

The tone setting applies to all subsequent single-page and bulk generations in that session until you change it.

Bulk mode — generate for up to 20 pages at once

Bulk mode is the fastest way to refresh meta across a site. It is available from the AI Tools panel → Meta Generator.

1

Select pages to process

Use the checkboxes in the On-Page tab table to select individual pages, or click Select all with issues to automatically check every page that has a missing, too-long, or duplicate meta tag. You can select up to 20 pages per bulk run.

2

Click "Generate All"

Daylytix sends each page's data to Claude AI in sequence. A progress bar shows how many pages have been completed. At ~2–5 seconds per page, 20 pages typically complete in under two minutes.

3

Review the results table

After generation, a results panel shows each page with its new proposed title and description. Edit any cell inline. Rows with a character count issue are highlighted for quick review.

4

Export as CSV

Click Export CSV to download all generated suggestions as a spreadsheet with columns for URL, new title, new description, title character count, and description character count. Hand the file to a developer or import it directly into your CMS via a bulk importer plugin.

Output format

For each page, the generator produces three ready-to-use outputs:

  • HTML snippet<title> and <meta name="description" content="..."> tags you can paste directly into your <head>
  • Plain text — just the title and description text, useful for pasting into CMS fields that handle the tags themselves
  • SERP preview — a live mockup of how the title and description will look in a Google search result, updating as you edit
ℹ️
The AI Meta Generator requires an Anthropic API key. All meta generation uses the Claude claude-haiku model via your personal Anthropic API key configured in Settings → AI. See Configuring your API key for setup details.

Tips for best results

  • Run an audit with GSC connected before generating meta — the AI uses real impression and click data to prioritize keywords.
  • Always review AI suggestions before publishing. The AI writes based on extracted text, so verify the description accurately reflects the page's primary purpose.
  • Use the SERP preview to check for truncation before copying — even within the character limit, some words are wider than others on mobile.
  • For product pages, make sure prices and key differentiators are mentioned in the page body so the AI can include them in the description.
  • Regenerate after making significant content changes — the AI's output is only as good as the crawl data it receives.
